Ralston has been a close friend of mine since I first got to Piedmont in the 6th grade. I’m honored to have had him in my life and I wanted to share with everyone some of my fondest memories and experiences with him.

I’ll miss our late night talks about self-discovery and chasing dreams. Ralston was often a pretty reserved guy, but you could feel his passion when he discussed issues close to his heart. Whether it be philosophy, self-enlightenment, or reconnecting with his Eastern heritage, he loved the pursuit of truth, and always kept an open mind toward new ideas.

Lastly, I’ll miss the laughs we’ve shared throughout the years. I feel lucky to have been close enough to Ralston to experience his outrageous sense of humor. From filming ridiculous mandarin videos in high school, to nights of debauchery when we visited each other in college, It was a joy to be totally unguarded and light-spirited with him. One memory that sticks out to me is when our high school friend group got together for the first time since leaving for college. We were all Freshmen at the time and he had just learned a dance as part of his initiation into the William’s soccer team. I remember him closing his eyes and in typical Ralston fashion, hard committing to the performance. It was so hilarious.

I’m really going to miss Ralston. He was like a brother to me. I’m so grateful that these are the memories I have of him and that I had the opportunity to grow up with him. May he forever rest in peace.
